「 483 – Master and Student Reunited 」The new rounds of Jump mangas are now surfacing so I can finally get started on the weekly chapter updates. First up is the latest Naruto release, chapter 483. Seems quite fitting to be the first manga on the plate cos it’s probably the single manga which I consistently talked about back in the day. Anyways, read on for my thoughts on this week’s happenings.

Summary: Sakura claims that she is ready to join Sasuke, no matter what it takes but Sasuke doesn’t believe it. After revealing his dream to crush Konoha, Sakura lies that she will still follow him, as she is certain that she can kill him once she gets close. In order to test Sakura’s resolve, Sasuke proposes that she kills Karin, since as a Taka member she is of no use to him, as Sakura can easily claim her old spot as the team healer.

As Sakura closes in on Karin, she starts thinking about whether to take his life right there at the spot, since she is just steps away from him. Little did she know that Sasuke had no plans of letting her join him in the first place as he uses the element of surprise to attempt a chidori on her at point blank. As Sakura was still deep in her thoughts, she was unable to react in time. Luckily for her, Kakashi is able to swoop in and stop the attack. Kakashi had previously known where the two were when he was able to get Kiba to tell him their coordinates, just before Sakura’s potent sleeping potion kicked in.

As he now sees how far Sasuke has fallen, he takes it onto himself to release the burden off of Sakura. Instead, she orders her to heal Karin and take her and retreat, as Karin knows valuable information about the enemy. After trying to advice Sasuke against plunging deeper into the darkness, he is met with a laugh as Sasuke sees no reason to stop his mission unless they are able to bring back his clan. Knowing that he would have to defeat his student just as Sandaime did with Orochimaru, the two prepare for battle as Naruto is hurrying to the scene.

My Thoughts: Looks like my personal predictions were all spot on, as I predicted that Sakura would need to prove herself by killing Karin. Even though I didn’t think that Sasuke would attack her at that instant, I also predicted that Karin would in the end be healed and taken into the hero camp. We still won’t know where her allegiance lies until the next few chapters, but it feels good to be correct on a few points.

This chapter once again shows how useless Sakura is, since she could have easily been killed if Kakashi had not been there. For a smart cookie, her plan seemed to be very shallow and not well thought out, as everyone I discussed with knew what her true intentions were. Sasuke is not densed so it wasn’t surprising to see him see through the plan so this was a wasted chance to see what else Sakura has developed other than her crazy strength and healing.

Anyways, as a villain I am loving how Sasuke is acting. He now has adopted the perfect douchey villain routine, complete with evil laughter and crazy eyes. What he plans to do once faced against Konoha I don’t know, cos I think he is delusional to think that he can take on the whole village with his small Taka team (especially with all three members now either out of commission or losing trust in him). Either way, this upcoming fight is gonna be very sweet, as I’ve been waiting for Kakashi and Sasuke to face off ever since the timeskip started (especially as Kakashi missed out when Team 7 met with him at Oro’s lair).

Again, Sasuke must be delusional to think that he can take on the standing-Hokage, as he is still heavily hurt and drained from his battle with Danzou. Since he didn’t take a bite out of Karin beforehand, I doubt that he can take on a fully-rested Kakashi, so he will probably slip away once Naruto arrives on the scene. Kakashi will probably still have second thoughts about killing him, leaving him with the opportunity to escape. Then again, Madara might sense danger looming and swoop in to save his star pupil. Regardless though, this will not be the end of Sasuke just yet.

  Oh man, Sasuke is totally going to end up blind and weeping blood in Naruto's arms… I'm really starting to resent Sakura for dumbing everything down. That girl is so incompetent, but everyone acts like she's awesome.

    Hopefully he doesn't fall before we get to see his face when he finds out that he can't destroy Konoha (he's no Pain :P)

    And yea, Sakura looks so weak ever since the Sasori fight (and even then she had help). Looks like Kishi just wants her dead.

  Yeah, Sasuke has adopted the typical nutty villain routine, but I think that's an improvement over his previous emo state. Agreed with Kabitzin though, Sasuke will go blind if he keeps this up.

    Yea, that whole emotionless crap was just taking a book out of Itachi's awesomeness and that really pissed me off.

    At least now we get to see Sasuke for what he is, a crazy, emotion-driven nut lol.

  If Kishimoto kills off Kakashi to prove how awesome Sasuke is, then I am flying to Japan to crap in his shoes.
