02bleach393 Summary: Aizen has intentionally missed vital organs during his attack on Hitsugaya, although it was still enough to significantly damage him as he lops off his left arm and leg. He wants all the captains to watch as he transforms Earth to his own liking. Before he gets any further though, out bursts Yamamoto from the ground in a giant blaze of flame. Aizen states that he was too late in showing himself, as there is currently no one other than Yamamoto who is able to stand up, as the other captains are now deeply injured and immobile.

03bleach393 The two faceoff with Yamamoto charging straight into Aizen, where Aizen manages to stab through Yamamoto’s body. This was all according to his plan however, as he manages to trap Aizen in his grasp. Revealing his plan of attempting to kill himself along with Aizen using his technique, the Ennetsu Jigoku, he grabs onto Aizen’s arm fully aware that it is not an illusion, as he is able to tell from his reiatsu that he was the real thing. Yamamoto explains that he has been keeping a low profile the whole fight in order to prepare this technique, which takes form as a large cage of fire, easily engulfing the whole town along with all the captains in the vicinity.

Aizen asks whether he is willing to risk the lives of his subordinates in the attack but Yamamoto knows that his captains are willing to sacrifice their lives for the greater good. Out of nowhere however, Wonderweiss comes up behind Yamamoto in his released form and proceeds to attack him. Yamamoto is able to intercept him with a swift slash of his flaming Zanpakutou, but is surprised that the flames vanished the instant that they came in contact with Wonderweiss. Apparently this has never happen before, as he holds the strongest Zanpakutou in existence. Aizen explains that in a one-on-one fight, he was inferior to Yamamoto. That hasn’t stopped him from developing a countermeasure however, as he explains that Wonderweiss is the first ever modified Arrancar in existence, whose sole purpose is to negate Yamamoto’s once invincible Ryuujin Jakka.

05bleach393 My Thoughts: Yamamoto!!! Where have you been old man?? You’re like 3 chapters late but I guess better late than never right? Wrong. Aizen, typical of him, manages to create the perfect counter to his invincible attacks and now that the playing field between the two has leveled out, Aizen clearly holds the advantage since he still has Wonderweiss and Gin if things get dire. All that planning seems to be for nothing and with his subordinates dropping like flies, Yamamoto won’t have much backup if the Wonderweiss situtation gets sticky.

Aizen of course was a tactical genius to think this far ahead, although going to war it’s a given to take into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy army (especially the strongest opposition). Now that Yamamoto seems to be backed into a wall, all that’s left is for either Ichigo, Ishhin, or Urahara to come to the rescue. I hope Yamamoto has another ace up his sleeve but since he was clearly shocked at seeing his flame blew out like that, it doesn’t seem likely. As the leader of Gotei 13 however, I expect more for him so I hope he is able to hold his own even at a disadvantage.

06bleach393 As for the battle in Hueco Mundo, I hope they sort that out in the next chapter or two cos I really want that to be out of the way ASAP. I don’t want the action to climax only for us to be brought back to that second rate fight. Yamamoto needs all the help he can get so if Byakuya and co. can haul ass back, it will be for the better. Ichigo should also get his head out of the clouds, all he’s done lately is stand around and cheerlead on the sidelines. Shouldn’t he be helping in other ways at least? Like Gin for example? He’s just casually standing around so much lately that I’m getting a little edgy.

As a side note, with the recent developments in Naruto, I can’t wait to see if Aizen will go batshit crazy and do the cliched maniacal evil laugh when things get heavy. It seems to be a prerequisite for villains after all :P
