D.Gray-man – Noche
While Hoshino has been off-and-on with the publication of D.Gray-man, she has found some time to release the series first artbook, Noche. I’m sure a lot of fans will be disappointed in the dearth of new artwork in the book, but for people like me who are interested in making graphics the artbook is a book. Its nice to finally have some nice, text-less versions of the colors pages to work with. But Hoshino did include some new artwork. Not much, but it does make the artbook more than worth the download.
The best of the new artwork is the sketches that bookend the beginning and end of the book. I’m sure female fans will get a kick out of the Allen and Lavi fanservice, while male fans will appreciate the Lenalee ass-shot, which is unfortunately, one of the very, very few new pieces of her. The other page worth recommending is a drawing Hoshino did of the characters in the currently ongoing flashback arc for Kanda. It shows the characters of that arc, as well as other characters as they would have appeared at the time (like Link and the Crow, as well as a young Lenalee).

I like the new art style now.
Especially with the color pages. Hoshino is much better with coloring now.
The colours are definitely nicer, reminds me of the last artbook you posted on HNYZ.
I just like how faces were drawn more in the older style. It didn't look as awkward :P

I can't say that I dislike the current styling of the art, but you can't stop the evolution of an artist's technique and style, I guess. As for the book itself, I liked it, but hoped to see more new art… Oh well. Can't do anything about that either.
