Weekly Artists – hoppang

In this segment, we introduce to you an artist of incredible talent from the depths of the internet. It may be from DeviantART, pixiv, a personal portfolio or any other avenue but the first and only criteria is to have insanely awesome art that make you go wow. While the title says weekly, this segment isn’t exactly a once-a-week occurrence, since there might be more than one artist post per week. The subject of this entry is the excellent pixiv artist hoppang.

Hmmm.....should I have used this as the main thumbnail instead?

While he doesn’t nearly have as much art in his pixiv account as the last weekly artist did, don’t think for one second that it makes him any less of an artist. Originally recommended to me by morri (when I was still considering artwork for the blog header), I instantly fell in love with his art style. He certainly knows how to draw women and the colour choices on some of the pieces are just incredible. He has a very interesting palette and I just love his painting style. I’ve always said to my close friends that I’m a sucker for painterly artwork, and anime done in such a style is just eyegasmic to me. Couple this with a smorgasbord of eye-pleasing girls and in my book you have a winner.
