Summary: Just as surprised as Ashirogi, Miura inquires how they would go about creating a manga incorporating all their past experience. Hattori asks the two whether they enjoyed writing Tanto and the two honestly say that they didn’t feel as excited as they were while doing KTM. Miura realizes that the mangaka has to enjoy what they ‘re doing and Hattori agrees, but he adds that he doesn’t think that KTM could have beaten Niizuma. He then presents the two a copy of True Human’s first chapter and the duo thinks that KTM was more interesting. Hattori agrees but he thinks that the reason KTM might not work out is that it may be too complicated for its own good. Due to this, there’s no real pull in rooting for the hero, as the series would rely too much on the plot to get people interested.
He also adds that he got the two to create a simpler adventure manga so that they could learn to strike the balance, as well as learn to incorporate humor where it’s needed. Ashirogi thinks that serious stories don’t need humor, reasoning that both Natural and True Human do not contain any. Hattori thinks that it’s not silly humor that they need, instead they need serious humor (where stories make people laugh without looking like they’re trying to). This strikes a chord in Shuujin as he is fired up by the prospect. He knows that through serious humor, their series could be a hit and they will definitely beat Niizuma. Miura still doesn’t understand what they’re harping on about but Mashiro uses Otters 11 as an example, which Miura understood perfectly after reading a particular chapter.
Hattori theorizes that Hiramaru may not have done his humor deliberately so he is classified as the type of mangaka who draws what he wants, like Niizuma. He knows that Shuujin is the calculating type, therefore he will be able to successfully implement it with care and thought. He also thinks that the key to all this is Mashiros serious art, with the two creating a chemical reaction of creativity due to their partnership. Mashiro asks if everything up to this point was Hattori’s way of inspiring the two but surprisingly, he credits Miura for the whole idea of serious humor. He then adds that he thought their talents were wasted on Tanto so he wanted to help them out. Shuujin thinks that for this sort of humor, something like TRAP would be more suitable than KTM. Hattori says it’s closer to what they need but it still may be too obvious a setting for it to fully work out. In the end the group continue to discuss and not long after Hattori leaves for home.
In October, Hiramaru’s Otters finally debuts as an anime and he uses the opportunity to ask for a vacation from his editor. His editor slyly tells him that it may not be possible however, as the manga needs to be maintained in order for it to be renewed for a new season. Surprisingly, Hiramaru finally sees through his ruse and says that now that he has an anime, he has the pull to take a vacation but the editor continues to one up him by saying that he won’t give him anymore Aoki trivia, where he finally breaks down and gives up for the time being. At the end of October, Miura is getting ripped for not having anything to hand in for serialization, as his group leader reminds him that Ashirogi may not make it in time for the meeting. Everyone is getting edgy over the whole situation, as the rest of team Fukuda (as well as Miyoshi and Azuki) learn of Ashirogi’s gamble. Niizuma seems unworried though, since he has faith that the duo had left their best for last. As Shuujin continues to work late nights to come up with a story, he mysteriously picks up a letter from Hattori, ending the chapter for the week.

My Thoughts: Did not see that angle coming. I totally forgot that humor could actually fall into two categories like that and I’m really looking forward to see what sort of stuff they’re gonna add to their next series. Hattori once again shows what a genius he is by suggesting everything positive in this chapter, while Miura is still sitting on the sidelines acting dumb. It really shows how clueless he was through the whole situation, especially seeing as he is a self-proclaimed advocate of humor. Shows how much he thinks since he seems to only respond to silly humor, and completely overlooking the serious part as well.
With Hattori also thinking that TRAP may not exactly be the route that they need to follow, it seems more likely that Shuujin will need to come up with a whole new genre on his own. He certainly has the chops to do it without a doubt, and being the calculating type he would have assessed both the pros and cons of such a venture. Sadly, there were no real hints dropped in the manga about what their new series may be, but with that sort of ending I’m thinking that we have to be getting a glimpse in the next chapter. This leads straight to the postcard letter, which I assume is Hattori’s way of supporting them on the sidelines. Since I don’t see a date stamp on the card anywhere, it could have been given to Shuujin at any point during the series. It could have been during the time they parted ways to go with Miura, or even straight after this last meeting.
I actually think it might be after the meeting, or maybe during the wedding ceremony. It may be the reason Shuujin thinks that Hattori is putting on a show at the end of their chat. Maybe the hints he was referring to has a connection to this postcard, which may be a good thing. I doubt that it would just be words of encouragement, since that won’t get them far. I hope the two have been keeping in touch secretly since the meeting to discuss the series direction, so they can hopefully make it in time for the meeting. Speaking of the deadline, I wonder if the two will make it in time. It seems like this whole thinking process has taken up a lot of time and Shuujin hasn’t really shown that he has even started on a story yet. This means a hectic deadline day for sure, and I can totally see some sort of drama where they finish their scripts just in time to crash the meeting itself. It plays into the whole dramatic setting we’ve been seeing around Ashirogi lately so I can totally see it happening.
As for Hiramaru, I was actually shocked and rooting for him when he was finally able to get out of his editor’s blackmail. I was like “hell yea” when he finally put his foot down after seeing through his bluff but I guess his love for women is too strong. He puts love on top of his rest so this loop is likely to continue for as long as he is serialized. At least he’s getting the popularity and the dough lol, much better than that previous desk job he had that lead to nowhere. All in all, this seems to be the final manga that Ashirogi will do, like I said last week. Hopefully it’s the “explosive” manga that the title of the series is alluding too, since it would take nothing short of explosive to uproot Niizuma and Iwase from their high horse. (P.S. Miyoshi was smokin’ in this chapter :3)

I want to know why Hattori added "-sama" at the end of Akito's name. Seems a bit odd for him to be calling him such a high class name. But then again we still don't know much about Takagi's home, do we? I don't recall ever finding out about his parents or how he was raised. Did we see his parents at his wedding?
Actually we did find out about his parents. His mum was a high school teacher while his dad was a bank officer or something. His mum was always tutoring him as a kid and one day, his dad got fired from the bank. Since his mum wanted him to avenge his dad by becoming a big corporate badass, he went nuts and didn't want to have that sort of future.
It was in one of the past early chapters right before they brought their first manuscript in I think
