K-On!! Episode 05

Not much good for this episode really, this episodes humor was more-so dry.

We start with Ui doing what she normally does, eat Butter Toast while texting Yui to see if she made it there alright. She goes into Yui’s room to make sure she got everything but in fact she forgot…HER CAMERA!

1 Opening theme nobody cares for later!

And yet Mugi's Eyebrows still look out of place.

Ui’s reading a text from her sister with a picture of Mount Fuji with Azusa. Azusa goes on about how Ui does everything for Yui and thats why she’s lazy.  Jun comes in with a text reading “Take care of the Freshman”(Wonder what it could mean…). Since the seniors are gone Jun got a loaf of bread that’s rare as the seniors take it all usually. Soon after Jun gets Azusa to help the Jazz band members with the guitar which they fail at so she tells them to do finger exercises everyday to improve the finger muscles.  Ui after realizing she has 1 more day alone cries so Azusa and Jun decide to sleep over with her. Jun brings a box of doughnuts while Azusa brings sushi. Once they go to sleep Jun takes Ui’s bed while she and Azusa sleep on the floor, we see later she rolls out and is kicking them in her sleep.

Go to bed before I go all Yui on you...

It’s raining so their plans for the zoo are screwed, so they decide to go to the batting cages (Lolis + Baseball = Awkward). Everyone but Ui does bad as she learned quickly and won a Giant Turtle. Azusa remembered Ton-Chan (Turtle with a Higher Iq then Yui) cause she forgot to feed her so they rush to school. Not long after they decide to jam with the instruments in the music room. Now they go their separate ways as Jun trips on the bus step while the other 2 watch.

The Next Day at School!

Yui returns and glomps her Azu Nyan. Her souvenir is a key chain with the character “Bu” (All together they form “Light Music Club”) which is kind of ironic as she is also in the pig costume. The episode ends with them eating cake and sipping tea (You expected them to do something else? right? right?)

Overall Thoughts: I did NOT like this episode but it did have a few good parts. For an episode starring Ui I thought it might be better for some reason. Jun seems like she will be the newest member of the Light Music Club soon with possibly Ui on Keyboards. I still wish they would have done the Mio Stalker arc since it was a good part in the comic. Guess it was not in the tone that they were aiming for in this moe slice-of-life. When they get college advice the person will be more of an unknown as they did not encounter her at all. The only redeeming quality of this episode would be in the club room with them just jamming since it made me think they’re the next Lineup when the others graduate.

Preview: Ritsu dons the pig costume and Yui wears a maid outfit. So it’s revenge of the Furries, and A Yui Maid!

  Yea i didn't like this one much either – hopefully they will have a better episode next time and I agree episodes with Ui are usually better.

  Are you not a fan of the OP either? I just skip it whenever possible, haha. I've heard tons about the stalker arc, so perhaps they're saving it for later. Jun seems pretty into her jazz band, so I wonder who's going to take over when the others graduate. Anyways, I love seeing the younger girls featured in the show~
