Giant Killing 7

*Insert Studio Deen joke here*

Alright look, I’ve played football many times before; I’ve played on a lot of teams and also played almost every position. The best team I ever played for was one that lost 70% of the time, I’ve also played on a team that won a regional tournament in the biggest city in Canada. If your goal is to win, then you may not have that much fun playing football, it relies on eleven people, the only player on the field that can single handedly win or lose a game is the goalkeeper. Having played that too, and as a captain I can tell you, the pressure is rough. However at the time my goal was to have fun, not to win, we still ended up winning a lot though because we all liked each other. We were the best team in our league which is a great feeling, but just playing together was better. Needless to say, this episode of Giant Killing pissed me off.

Watching a grown man being berated by the wife is always funny.

Summary:

Hey there, so remember that match at the end of the last episode when ETU conceded? Yeh, well they’re losing four nil. Also, the match ends that way. Needless to say people are surprised, not the least of which being our new reporter friend Fujisawa who questions Tatsumi about the people that are believing in him in the post-game conference. Tatsumi asks her if she’s mad, and then says that she is mad, consequently making her mad. However he says that they can believe in him.

Uuuuuwaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

So ETU loses the next game, which causes some huge riffs to form in the team, the biggest of which being the great big, bald fucktard Kuroda who is a giant chicken-shit. He blames everyone for their faults because he is a humongous turd. In order to decide the starting line-up for the next game Tatsumi gets the team to play a game of football-tennis where pairs that play the same position face off in competition for their position. Kuroda refuses to play the game so he is benched. ETU still loses the next game, but they score a goal and were only down by one goal at the final whistle.

ETU away kit......it's okay.

At the next practice Tatsumi says that they are going to play another game to determine the starting line-up for the next game. Kuroda can no longer deal with it, having already put in a transfer form, and leaves the field. It should be mentioned that the fans are pissed, the management is getting really worried and Fujisawa is still wondering if she’s being played like a fiddle. Apparently the players are finding Murakoshi hard to approache and Tsubaki is being treated like trash. The episode ends with Tatsumi saying that whoever wants to win can enjoy the competition.

Dammit, I want the world cup to start!

Thoughts:

So that was the easiest summary I’ve ever written, obviously I left out the details of conversations but the matches only lasted about ten seconds to two minutes. This episode was all build-up, which has worked, I really want to see the next episode now, but I also have the feeling of wanting to hit something. Tatsumi losing three games in a row isn’t good, and with only one goal ETU is probably bottom of their league. Hopefully next episode will renew faith and ETU will get its act together to win a game, it looks as though Kuroda will be watching the next game as a civilian.

Gino is still flying high, clearly.

Speaking of Kuroda, ladies and gentlemen, bring in the ass-clown’s hat as it would fit Kuroda like a charm. That guy is the ultimate cock-sucking, shit-faced, flying fuck-cicle and deserves nothing better than to be thrown in front of sharks and not real ones, the ones from Deep Blue Sea. I’ve never played with someone on his level of douche, but I have punched people for less than what he said to Akasaki and Tsubaki, especially considering the mind set everyone had. He is a big, bald child blaming everyone else and not thinking about his own faults. Also, those sharks from Deep Blue Sea are fucking scary.

Alright, you got me, I'm avoiding posting shots or Kuroda.

Once again Tatsumi had me laughing during his post-game conference; when he got the calm Fujisawa to lose her composure like a tsundere high school girl I lost it. How she regained herself was funny too, also, she is still covering ETU so perhaps she is a masochist. We didn’t see much of Murakoshi and Tsubaki this week but their attitudes come across surprisingly clear. Murakoshi believes in Tatsumi now and goes along with his antics, but who knows how long he’ll remain quiet. Tsubaki is in the dumps and it is going to take a good pull to yank him out of it.

...this is the best shot of a crowd from the episode...........

Tatsumi asked Gotou how many games he could lose before getting sacked, making it crystal to him and the audience that Tatsumi is not losing; he is sacrificing games. ETU has lost the fun in the game, they are simply playing to win and it has been made clear by the games they’ve played that they are neither having fun nor winning. Gino seems to be the only person actually having fun; for someone who lives so extravagantly he seems to enjoy the little things. I have high hopes for the next episode where we should hopefully see some improvements from ETU (and hopefully Kuroda will fuck off!). One more thing, hey Deen, I know that we’ve never seen eye to eye, I couldn’t even look you in the face after Fate/Stay Night but I would appreciate it if you would cut back on either the audience shots, or the terrible CG in the audience shots, kthxbye.

  • My thoughts exactly. The first goal they conceded was definitely Kuroda's fault. He got too confident and stopped to let the ball go by. Not to mention he blocked the keeper at that moment.

Well, those sharks would certainly be too severe for him. I'd suggest he mouth off some nonsense in front of our favorite reporter — and get an armor-piercing slap. It's beneficial to both sides — he gets put in his place, and she gets to let off steam, although being an M, I doubt she would (kidding).

  • Vivi says:

SOCCERRRRRRR xP Team sports aren't my thing (I'm an ex-swimmer), so I can almost see where Kuroda is coming from (not really), but he's still a huge douchebag :T Poor Tsubaki~ so far I think Tsubaki is my favorite character, his lack of self-confidence is something I can relate to. Either him or Gino, Gino's pretty gangster. *3*

  • I'm up for Tsubaki dropping to the bench and Kuro getting kicked off the team altogether. Tsubaki I think will be a help in the big games but he can't perform consistently – Tatsumi should focus on developing regular performance.

Hmm… if Gino knew how to actually run and dribble… well, then he wouldn't be playing in J-League right? XD

  • I think Gino is really the type of Italian player that cares more about his technique than physical brute. He's probably a good playmaker to set up stuff, but I think Tatsumi is deliberately making the team fail in order to make them understand their weaknesses. It is said that the time for transformation happens when you get enlightenment at the lowest point of your life.

I think he is doing just that, so that no one has any expectations. Hence, they can start the journey of Giant Killing, and ride on a win streak that no one has ever seen. :P

  • wow didnt expect this to happen, losing the first 3 – 4 games in a row O.o

plus tatsumi hasnt been really explaining, he even said how many games do i have to get the sack -.-''

anyway i think his strategy is to get rid of some players against him, Marokov is now not debating etc, focusing on himself.

Anyway looking at the preview, i think sugo transfers team.. good, cause hes annoying,.
