The Music of Welcome to the NHK

I now know what a NEET and a hikikomori is :D
The past few days I’ve been looking through my backlog of unfinished and plan-to-watch animes and decided that it’s about time I actually watch and complete some of them. Most of them have just been sitting in my hard-drive for a while now and I thought it was such a waste to just leave them there. So, first on the list was an anime that was recommended to me by a lot of people I’ve chatted with. Being the lazy guy that I am, and inspired by Kyos recent YUI post, I thought I’d share some of the music of the anime instead of writing up a review.
If you browse through my MAL, you will see that I gave it a 10 so obviously I really loved the anime. One of the things that stuck with me the most was the music, since there was one in particular that really hit me. It was actually used quite often in certain scenes and I thought the acoustic guitar playing was just beautiful. The OP was also surprisingly catchy and while I didn’t really like the ED, it was still pretty entertaining nonetheless (in a wtf way).
I’ve added the accompanying youtube videos so you have a preview of the song so definitely check them out. The acoustic guitar tune is also added and I’ve included a bonus guitar tab for those who want to try it out on their guitars (it’s easy since it’s just a few chords). Another bonus would be the catchy anime cellphone ringtone tune that the protagonist Satou uses, so you can use them as your ringtone if you really want to :P

「Youkoso! Hitori Bocchi」 by Pearl Kyoudai
This song inspired me to make this post, since I really wanted to share it to others who haven’t seen the anime. While it is a bit on the sad side, I reckon it’s still a great tune, especially to play on the guitar. The download link below includes both the music and the guitar tabs.

「Pururin」
And here is that annoying anime tune that you’ll hear a lot of during the first few episodes. Since Satou uses it as his ringtone, here’s an mp3 of the same tune.

Good stuff. I never really got around to actually listening to the entire soundtrack, but I've been told there are quite a few gems tucked in here and there. The OP obviously is superb, and I've yet to listen to any ROUND TABLE song that I could decry as being bad. The first ED is insane, and I think it does a great job of conveying the depths of Satou's depravity (at least before Misaki really worked on him). The second ED is a bit more euphonious, but Yui Makino's singing tends to be that way anyhow.
The soundtrack itself is pretty good.
I was actually hoping to read your take on it before I posted this but I didn't see it on your review archive. Any chance of you reviewing the OST in the near future?
Everything I do is kind of on a whim, but I do keep a list of high priority (relatively) stuff to look at, so I'll definitely toss NHK's soundtrack on there :p
Yeyee, another music update! ^_^ This reminds me of so many unfinished anime on my list…. T_T
Anyway, Hitori Bocchi was simply awesome. It took out Flying Humanoid by Shouko from my head. Has a nice nostalgic feel to it.
Hitori Bocchi perfectly fit the motif of the episode and the series as a whole. Plus, it's a good song on its own. I'm not quite that fond of the OP and both EDs, but they're tolerable I guess. Welcome to the NHK! was an awesome anime in its own right, even without Hitori Bocchi.
