Ookami-san 4
Every tsundere needs an endearing trait that hints at that elusive soft side of their personality, and Ryouko’s just so happens to be a certain girly romance novel. Fun coincidence that the author turned out to be Ryoushi’s aunt, and she was another interesting addition to the supporting cast of the show. I’m not sure how most of us envision the actual authors behind those mass-market romances, but I can’t blame Ryouko for being surprised it was a laidback lady still in her twenties. I have to admit, though, the lengths she went through to disguise them was d’awww worthy.
A good portion of the male population at the Otogi school would probably kill to be in Ryoshi’s shoes. I’ve enjoyed the past few episodes of Ookami-san so far, and they’re pretty consistent, but I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the last one. Tsurugaya’s backstory was seemed a little contrived– or the way that they went about setting it up was. Anyways, I was reading spoilers on other blogs about this episode, but I didn’t expect the ‘onii-chan’ who saved Otsuu to be a kid! Poor boy got hit by a truck… And Otsuu’s obsession with returning favors began.
I still love how the fairy tale aspect is still being incorporated and lampshaded with the help of the narrator. Hansel nii-sama and Gretel as part of the student council was funny (and I wonder who else is on the council? There are so many fables they could exploit). This week’s retold tale was something about a crane’s repayment. It’s a Japanese folk tale, so I’m not familiar with it, but the way it was handled was sweet and developed Otsuu’s character instead of just leaving her as a random meido character.
The seven friends we still haven’t learned more about are Liszt (the president), Alice (the glasses girl), and Mu (the crazy witch/scientist). (I’m still having trouble remembering all their names). And we haven’t learned much about Ringo, although she’s featured pretty prominently in most episodes. An episode fleshing out any of their pasts is sure to be fun to watch, and once all those back stories are taken care of we’ll see what direction the rest of the plot takes. Actually, next week seems to be a take on Momotaro, which is reminding me of the parody that Kaichou wa Maid-sama did a while back as well– I wonder how they’ll interpret it.

I hope we do get to see development of Majolica. I like mad inventors (one of my favorite parts of Bond movies was always his trip to see Q), so I've been hoping we would see her creating some new tools for the team. She should at least have been given the honor of presenting Ryouko with the electrified neko-knuckles, instead Ringo stole her thunder.
This episode is meh, actually this series is kinda meh…the plot..wheres the plot!
anyway it was sad to see her past with her bother? dying etc..
haha suddenly having a maid a your place..most guys will like that indeed.
Mint-chan! Finally good to see you posting~ <3
I liked episode three more than four but still this is an OK fluff to spend time. Reminds me of catching up to KwMS. >.>
I would love to have a maid serve me.
Yeah, I find this series enjoyable, but so far it's been pretty dull when it comes to the plot. What was the plot again? :x
Endless references to Kaichou Wa maid sama – First the rabbit apples, then the Maid costumes. Plus they're technically like a council. I haven't watched this episode but watch the first episode of Ookami-san but lost interest immediately – it just seemed too flowery/cliche/meh for me; like a cake with no sugar.
Speaking of butlers, Kaichou wa maid sama had an omake on if the genders of the characters were switched – therefore the maid-latte turned into a butler cafe :D
Oh and by the way … where have you been Mint? HOHO. Must be that I haven't nagged you enough this month.
