High School of the Dead 6
Two new best buds hanging out, reloading weaponry!
Hey there High School of the Dead, I really liked this episode just like I liked the chapter of the manga. Now that I’ve told the show how I feel I can get to talk a load of crap behind its back. This or next episode will probably end up being my favourite episode of the show as it is my favourite part of the early manga. The first thing that I should probably get out of the way is that there is a naked apron, and it’s fucking awesome. I guess I can’t call it a naked apron since she was wearing panties, but I think that’s about as close as you can get to the naked apron without being technically completely naked. My favourite part of the chapter in the manga was when Takashi told Rei that Hisashi is dead and he killed him in a fit of rage! However it wasn’t as cool here for some reason, also, them almost kissing in the manga turned into a breath sex game here that was intense. The manga represents Rei as being drunker than she was here, since she both doesn’t remember this and is the one that notices that Takashi has a boner, though who can blame the guy after the last three meetings he had with girls that night.

I laughed a lot at Kouta’s reactions in this episode. I’ve said before that I’m a big fan of Hiyama Nobuyuki and his crazy sounding voice. The manga has a lot of these moments where Kouta just turns into a huge nerd to rant for a little while and this anime would have been quite a bit worse without a good voice actor that could pull these crazy moments off. Speaking of the voice actors, everyone has been doing a great job in my opinion; I think the voices are probably the best aspect of the show. Suwabe Junichi is doing a great job as Takashi, Sawashiro Miyuki is doing a awesome job as Saeko, and Inoue Marina is being really fucking annoying as Rei; everyone’s perfect. I’m still unsure what I find just so annoying about her voice, I’ve decided that it’s not the voice and is instead just the character and the voice just comes with it. Since I know I didn’t find her annoying in Gurren Lagann. Though she did play the main character in Kampfer, and we all know how annoying that mother fucker was.

I would like to point out that yet again, upon first contact Shizuka went straight for Takashi’s penis. You’ll notice that I’ve decided to drop the –sensei from her name, this is for two reasons: 1) School no longer exists 2) She’s the second worst teacher in the show. You might say; “But Flags, you magnificent bastard, there are only two teachers in the show so far!” to which I will reply; you are right, but it is by choice that I rank them from the bottom rather than the top [Insert Yaoi Joke Here]. It’s interesting that Kouta only spent a month learning how to fire a gun, but is apparently a master of all firearms. Though I suppose that isn’t all that different to how Kurosaki Ichigo improves. Do guys realize that Ichigo is still sixteen years old? The only sixteen year-old I know is a bitter overworked girl that abuses me on twitter. When High School of the Dead ends I want there to be an epilogue that contains these facts:
1) Takashi marries Saeko
2) Kouta marries Takagi
You could imagine how adorable these couples would be. Kouta would be some sort of assassin while Takagi would be either a mad scientist or a politician (same thing). The best coupling however is Takashi and Saeko. Saeko runs a dojo with a very homely feel that is popular because Takashi’s future career is to be the heavy hitter for the Yomiuri Giants.

I suppose that I should go and start writing some fanfiction but I won’t. The problem with fanfiction is that it is all wrong (hence fiction). I always picture fanfiction websites the same as a retirement home, where everyone is just sitting alone in rooms wondering why no one wants to see them. Occasionally some people come and visit them but they just feel awkward the entire time they’re there. I’m pretty sure that next week will be my favourite episode (yay first paragraph reference) because it’s the introduction of Alice and also contains gar motorcycle action. It also contains one of the most tragic parent moments in recent manga. I just realized that I haven’t mentioned the ecchi stuff yet. Well it’s there; ecchi moments don’t really affect me in anime, go figure. I have an eternal love for the naked apron, though, but that has to do with the fact that I have a thing for woman in aprons generally (repressed sexism FTW!). Someone should tell Shizuka to go see a doctor because she apparently doesn’t have any nipples.

Fairly slow paced episode compared but i still enjoyed it!

This episode was really just fan service. Nothing less, nothing more.

I watched it expecting it be a plotless fan service episode, and in that regard it wasn't too bad. Rei was annoying though at the end.
Question: When isn't Rei annoying?

In all seriousness, I enjoyed this episode even though it was just a "fanservice" episode (what episode isn't filled with fanservice?), Instead of just being mindless like the usual, the fanservice actually amused me (as a guy: also pretty damn hot).
Much better than the last episode, where my only favorite scenes were at the end. DOUBLE TAP.
That Saeko picture seemed like one of those magazine inserts unfolding =P
