Amagami SS 7

Hooray for close up blushing shots!

Oh man, they totally shunted the Miya/Ni-nii chat about why his tongue was caressing Kaoru’s belly. I was totally looking forward to how awkward that brother/sister discussion would be. At least we got a chase sequence though; I love chase sequences because they last a long time and nothing happens in them [/sarcasm]. I got a heavy load off my back this week and I’m done my “summer schooling” now that I’ve handed in my research paper about evolution. I don’t know how many of you out there consider yourselves well versed in the details of evolution. But after spending months on this research paper, I can now officially say that I hate the Burgess Shale. If you know what that is (without the help of the internet) then you get a cookie, if not then I guess you can use the internet to increase your own knowledge. After all, the internet was made so that people could increase their knowledge through discussion and understanding. Why do I suddenly hear the sound of the internet singing a certain Avenue Q song? Playing Limbo and then Alan Wake must be getting to me.

I'm going to miss that ponytail after this arc ends...

Speaking of chase sequences and Alan Wake; that game is one long chase sequence. I say that but I’ve only gotten through one episode so far, but I’m very intrigued at what their reveal is going to be to explain everything, or for the cliffhanger that forces me to buy a new T.V. after impaling my current one with a controller. Game anger is a very funny subject; the only games I’ve ever gotten truly angry at are FIFA games and Soul Caliber IV. Every single time I’ve gotten angry at FIFA is because it has cheated me in some way, and yes, I’m sure that’s what everyone says. However whenever I’m playing FIFA and an offside isn’t called or my defenders won’t, you know, defend; I tend to get annoyed. You could say that my career of playing FIFA games predicted the 2010 World Cup years before it happened. I get annoyed at Soul Caliber IV because Kilik is the cheapest character ever. Who knew that in a game with swords and souls that the best character wouldn’t be the dead pirate that can teleport and shoot explosive guns, but the annoying high-pitched voice guy with the wooden stick. I would just like to mention that a girl playing pool is like the sexiest thing to me. A girl playing pool in an apron, is probably my ultimate fantasy. Just thought I’d point that out.

Even back then Junichi was giving Kaoru the full body scan.

I wonder if Kaoru has really just accepted her mother’s decision or if she is just holding it in. I suggest this because I’d prefer the last minute drama next episode to come from something already developed rather than Kaoru crying by herself in the shower because Junichi didn’t barge in and rape her. I think Japan is the only country in the world that represents rape as a good thing. Not that they don’t also represent it as a bad thing, but come on; Haruka crying because Junichi didn’t peek on her is like me crying because after punching me in the face, you didn’t follow it up with a kick to the balls. Speaking of Haruka, I love that she wanted to costume rape Hibiki, which definitely seems like something she’d want to do. For some reason, while I enjoy seeing Hibiki, I get a little annoyed when I see Haruka. I guess it’s because her five minutes is up and she needs to move aside. Personally I think these arcs are set in a very poor order, I think that Kaoru would have been much later considering that she is going to continue to show up quite often in the remaining arcs. And if each time is as awkward as seeing Haruka then this is going to be tough. I think the order should have been; Sae, Ai, Haruka, Rihoko, Kaoru and then Tsukasa.

Someone forgot to return her scarf...

Without a doubt, the best part of the episode was Junichi delivering his bad ass line after throwing Kaoru the chocolate, then pulling off the cool, and then walking away while congratulating himself. Since that is definitely what all guys do; they try to think of the coolest way to do something. The trick is just pulling it off, but when you do, self-congratulations are definitely in order. Junichi definitely gets bigger points in this arc than in the last one. Though I think he was actually cooler after Kaoru judo tossed him (hear me out). Since she didn’t want him to see her face he just stayed on the ground and continued to support her, in fact, he was so cool he didn’t even realize he was being cool; that’s cool. Though last episode was incredible, we had definitely seen Haruka give Junichi more action by this point in her arc.; though that’s because she’s a giant cock tease that gets angry when the cock thinks it’s being teased again, though in reality she just wants the cock (paraphrasing). In order to bring about a conclusion to this arc I have to believe that next week is going to be action packed. I heard a lot of people saying bad things about how they skipped ten years to show how Haruka and Junichi got on after high school; I personally love that stuff and hope that they do it for every arc. I want every arc to end with Junichi as a different profession; just hopefully they explain what his profession is (assuming salary man).

Nice post/blog my friend and i Will testify about how pissed you get at FIFA and Kilik from Soul Caliber it's gets funny sometimes. Anyway back to SS I'm with you about the whole seeing Haruka thing it just feels awkward like the kind of awkward of running into someone you just broke up with the next day kind of awkward but I must admit that I still like seeing Hibiki as she is just awesome lol. Anyway keep up the good work talk to ya soon.

I mentioned this on the fansub site that does this, but this episode was terrible. Apart from the momentary embarrassment-giggles, barely anything happened. You were obviously expecting her to make up with her mom (she IS her mom after all), and that Junichi would try and help her. No actual progress was made on the relationship I think, as they're still pretty much in the friend stage. Next week's better we freakin' perfect if they want to make up for this.

  • Kilik might be stronger than most, but I've been KO'd by a guy who did one long unblockable combo with Cervantes. Kilik also is easier to use than most in SC4 as well, so more people are good with him. As for the episode, I've been surprised by this arc. I thought this arc might not be as good as the rest, but I've been enjoying it.

I'm a fan of Zasalamel. I just love juggling people with that scythe. Before Soul Caliber III though my preference was Yoshimitsu; because that dude is the definition of going down swinging.

  • Simply love Kaoru, dam its a shame its not a whole TV series on her >.<

love the uniform and the blush scene arrgh everything lol

The best part was when he perfected his sentence ORZ

Most people think that at the end of the Haruka arc, in the 10 year after even, that Junichi became a detective. It is in fact that he, just as in the cafeteria, was role playing. They don't specifically say what he does, but Haruka was confirmed as a homemaker.

This episode I really liked. It was similar to episode 2. Since we saw Kaoru realizing that she loves him, this ep. focused on Junichi realizing that he loves her.

I didn't care for the first half of the review. The part about the gaming and whatnot was really unneeded. Personal opinion there. But the latter half was well comprised.

    • Flags says:

It's because most people didn't seem to realize that Hibiki clearly states that she's glad he "isn't a detective", to which Haruka replies that he vowed always to protect her.

Well, nothing that I ever say is really needed, so I can't sympathize with you in that regard. But yeh, it's just me ranting. Clearly you would hate every thing I say about Giant Killing; half of those reviews are devoted to something else. I only do three posts a week, so whenever I play a new game or something like that, I feel like mentioning it in one of those said posts. I try to keep all off-topic banter to one paragraph so that you can just skip the blurb.

Do you feel the same way when I mention other anime in reviews; or is it just when it's random things not part of the anime style?

      • Decre says:

Well, if its comparing perhaps, something in one anime, to another, I don't mind that at all. But the random hiccup of the games was just…odd.

Like I said, was solely my opinion. :)

  • Very good review Flags-sir!

Loving loving loving (song by Epik High), this arc, with the main reason being is the relationship development between Junichi and Kaoru is more of my cup of tea…. Can't put my finger on it, but I think it's just Kaoru was the one to move first then it became a chain of events where they find out that they have feelings for each other….

Hnnnnnnng can't wait for the final episode of the arc!!!

    Till then…….

I'll talk to you back when you come back from Toronto! *I know I'm wrong on that…*
