Infinite Stratos 07

Firstly as a Frenchman am I supposed to support Charles? If so then I SURRENDER!, I mean umm VIVA LA FRANCE! Secondly this is the episode leading up to the tournament which should prove to be good. Looks like we’ll be getting a lot of action this episode which as you know is always good, and as this is episode 7 we’ve officially reached the halfway point (although I want to see a season 2 but I doubt there will be one).

HELLFIRE MISSILES!

We start with all the girls except Houki gathered in a circle gossiping, probably planning Ichika’s kidnapping, and slave hood (kinky!). So the rumor is that if you win the tournament you get to go out with Ichika (I guess these girls have never seen a man before). Charles (still not open about being a reverse trap), breaks up the circle of Rabid Fan Girls, leading to Houki having a flashback with popping the question. Her past is sad, and I see why she hates her sister, because of her she couldn’t do Kendo and was put into protection. Rin and Cecila fight to the death decide to have a practice match to determine who’s better, and the transformation sequences are pretty nifty. But instead are interrupted by Laura (the bitch).

While they put up a good fight they’re almost killed by Laura (why don’t they just KICK HER OUT OF THE SCHOOL? She seems to not care if a student, AKA A REPRESENTATIVE OF ANOTHER COUNTRY IS KILLED BY HER.) Thankfully Ichika transforms and bursts through the shield to save them, since apparently there’s nothing to stop it, like a kill switch for the IS. Even Charles (Charlote to Ichika), transforms to help save them. I like Charles’ IS, dual machine guns, really shows how firepower is needed.

Evil bitch is Evil

Instead of another IS attacking Laura what do we get? Chifuyu STOPPING HER ATTACK WITH A SWORD! That’s it, my favorite character? I don’t get why Laura isn’t punished though she almost KILLED 2 STUDENTS. This conflict gets resolved at the tournament instead. I do like how Ichika visits them though, I guess feeling guilty for the attack. I love Rin’s Triple baka to Ichika. The tournament will be a tag team fight, which I find interesting. Ichika picks Charles (why not Rin, or Houki? Is it because Charles is a reverse trap?) Maya is right since Rin and Cecila can’t fight they should rest up and get better. The changing scene is hilarious I think it’s the funniest part of the whole episode. Though I think Ichika finally realizes Charles is a girl…I hope anyways. We see a little pre tournament stuff, thus ending this episode!

Overall: I thought it was a good episode, Chifuyu is badass for attacking an IS using a plain old sword. Charles has a mighty kick (not a rider kick but close) which knocked out Ichika. And mostly I thought Laura is still a bitch and needs to be kicked out of the academy for almost killing 2 students.

Rating: I give this episode 8 Pirate Themed Sentai Teams out of 10 (that’s what my pic is Gokai Red from Pirate Sentai Gokaiger which is next!)

  Has there even been a proper antagonist introduced yet, or is it gonna continue with this slice-of-life routine till the end?

  My guess is that Laura is the closest thing to a villain we have right now

    Since the novels haven't been fully translated yet, I cannot confirm nor deny if there will be a true villain. Although I'm guessing that IS with the AI Chifuyu found will have a role…..soon hopefully.

    And as it would seem my original post probably didn't have the colors, so thanks Bass I owe you a ummm Coke?

  I didn't quite understand the on screen text but can i presume Laura and Houki were partnered together? IF true it could be awesome for the next few episodes.

  Laura's IS is so overpowered with the AIC, but I guess it's a good setup for the moment when Ichika finally teaches her a lesson in respect.

    I swear it's like some cheat code you put into a game or hacking when it comes to Laura's IS suit D: She uses that "ultimate defense" thingy that can block ANYTHING, from laser swords to normal bullets and missiles! D: I don't know if I'm sure or not but it didn't seem like the defense barrier can be used at the back while used at the front so MAYBE Ichika and Charles will think of something ^^ I want her BEAT! But I want Houki to WIN T____T Such a hypocrite I am xD

  I'd like to see Hato's reaction after knowing his favourite character is a cold blooded person who didn't care about peoples lives but being the strongest (Is it like Sasuke from Naruto??) Unless of course he likes this type of personality or is trying to ignore her bad side which sums up who she IS!!

  You know… this might be one of the best episodes in IS, but of course you can't go leave out the usual slice of life stuff but the fighting amongst the IS's were GREAT! Can I say… Why was Ichika's transformation not extended? To me it seemed rushed in a way unlike the china girl and the england girl. Honestly… I expected a Masou Shoujou transformation length (Too much Kore wa Zombie desu ka) ^^"

  HOUKI NEEDS HER OWN IS!!!!! *fanboy rage!* And… I did feel kinda sad when she was reminiscing of the past about how she was violent and etc, I hope she's able to surpass that soon ^^ But damn… Houki and Laura partnering up!??! I didn't want that to happen but I guess it's because Laura has that violent side to her and Houki used to be violent but wants to change. BUT STILL!!! That's so cruel for Houki~~~ T____T

  Random: I crave for a gundam-like IS to appear soon, it would make things more interesting ^^ Loving those sniping bits from the england girl (Fangs, I believe they are called) And can I say that Charles is sooooo ADORABLE!!! <3

  Naw I don't think Laura is going to kill them or anything. It's pretty obvious that she's provoking Ichika. Besides from what I read on Animesuki, she's an actual soldier anyway so she's tough as hell so I give props to Ichika for being able to get her into the harem… assuming that he does since she seems to be the another "target" for Ichika lol.

    Since you seem keen on sorta spoilers, I'll say this, after the tournament when he beats her, she lightens up a little after realizing Ichika's strength is his compassion for his friends or something. So she becomes his bodyguard and as she knows nothing about Japanese culture she think she's his "Bride"
