Infinite Stratos 12 [END]

This is it. Despite Bass stealing happily filling in for me, I return for THE FINAL EPISODE. Firstly, a warning: there isn’t a harem ending. So more then likely, we’ll get a second season as the novel is still ongoing. I say it’ll come out in about a year. Secondly, as of this post, I’m posting less because it’s my senior year of high school. I finish in June, so I might blog the following season. I will still be posting on Sekijitsu, but it’ll mostly be OVAs.

WAIFU?

Anyways, the epilogue of the last episode, really made me rethink the series, I’m impressed with the final episode. What’s surprising is I bothered to watch the OP this week, since I usually skip it (but I do enjoy the song). We see the new enemy IS going after Laura and Cecila, but they put up a damn tough fight, same for Charles. The CG in this episode is pretty awesome I’d say; usually, it’s not that great… Anyway, Ichika has a flashback about a random girl, and we cut back to the fight with Rin trying to fire at the IS also. His IS basically comes to him in a vision asking if he desires power (don’t most mecha pilots?). Then begins the second shift, with it growing wings and becoming taller. I like Ichika; he doesn’t just desire power to protect his friends; instead,  he really shows signs of manning up.

Indeed!

The IS fires another energy blast, and Houki goes down (OH GOD NO), followed by Cecilia and Charlotte (WAIFU). Houki blacks out and is later awakened by Ichika (Bro material?). The whole scene is moving, and cute, Ichika even remembers Houki’s birthday. Byakushi Setsura looks pretty nice–and better armed–than its normal form. They all get back up for round two! (DING DING DING!) Houki’s IS digivolves transforms into a more powered up mode, and goes to help Ichika. He quickly runs low on energy until Houki delivers him some more. The combo attack between Laura and Ichika has no effect, until Cecilia and Rin join in the barrage. I think he went Mach 5 for a moment there to destroy the IS. They finish the fight in a powerful scene. They return home (or to the base of operations) to get congratulated and reprimanded by Chifuyu, which is, while reasonable, pretty ironic.

SIR YES SIR!

Everyone treats them like heroes though they just say it’s classified info (no surprise). I think Houki and Ichika finally admit their feelings. This whole thing? I think it was a plot by Houki’s sister to test Ichika–kinda scary that she would go to great lengths just to do that. Houki and Ichika talk some more, and I think this starts to spawn the seeds of a relationship (hoot hoot hoot hoot), since he asks her whether her hair was burnt badly and such. Cecila made me laugh when she blasted Ichika with her mobile bit with the rest of them showing up . And so ends a good series, and in the end, there was no harem ending. I suspect a season 2 in maybe a year or so once the novels have progressed.

Looks like Team Ichika is blasting off again!

Overall Ratings:
The episode itself: I’m giving a fully 10 out of 10, it was full of action, and I enjoyed the ending, I do hope for season 2 though.

Plot: Good plot all around, seemed the the typical harem, but hey so what? harems can be good. I give it a 9 out 10, because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Music: I liked the music from the series it gave a definite feel for the series as a whole, and didn’t get in the way of things. I’m gonna have to give it 8 Explosions out of 1

        I hate obvious pairings in harems. It makes me want to root for anyone else. XD

              There is nothing wrong with a Houki X Ichika Elyon~!! x3 If you hate obvious pairings, does that mean you also hate the couple in Kimi ni Todoke? :O

                Woah woah woah woah! Kimi NI Todoke is different. I don't give a crap about Kazehaya, but because I adore Sawako to such an extent that I just want her to be happy, I ship Sawahaya. If she decided she wanted to have a threesome with Kazehaya and Kent, I'd be cool with that too. I ship what she ships! <3 Plus, it's not a harem, so there really is only one main couple.

                My problem with Houki is she's got no personality of her own. She's just a generic cardboard cut-out tsundere with nothing else to her. That can be said about most of them, but for her there was really no attempt at all to make her even remotely unique. >_<

    I was supporting Char but i seriously went batshit crazy over interrupted that kiss, not that im surprised, it was a rather predictable ending but there is always that part of me that was hoping for pay off.

    The CG was rather noticeable this episode, was it this obvious before and i just simply overlooked it?

    I love how adorable Laura looks in that line up, shes so small <3
