Figure Spotlight: Angel Beats Petit Set #1

From left to right: Shiina, Yuri and Yusa

Hello minna-san! As you guys voted, I shall be continuing the figure spotlight posts fortnightly for all you folks who enjoy reading these. As for haters… haters gonna hate. I can’t do much about that but I am starting to invest in a better camera as the current camera I’m using is only 8 mega pixels. Other than that here’s the Angel Beats Petit Set #1 consisting of Shiina (my second favourite character), Yuri and Yusa.

As you would know by now, these characters are from the anime Angel Beats. If you don’t know what Angel Beats is, take a look at either MAL or my Yuri figure post. As for who sculpted it, I won’t know as I can’t read Japanese but I can tell you it was made by Good Smile Company.

In this set, there are many small movable parts which you can use to customize how your petit looks. You could even change Yuri’s hair to Shiina’s hair or even make her hold knives! Yet these parts are quite fragile as some fall off the petite or just won’t fit.

Other details of interest listed down below:

A Chinese born Australian who loves playing snooker, jamming on the bass guitar and drowning himself in lots of anime. Tofu is also a huge Hikasa Yoko fan so forgive his 'feminine' tendencies at the mention of either: Hikasa Yoko, K-On! or Mio Akiyama. You can also find me over at Twitter and MAL.

Good Smile Company is one of my favorite company in the figurines production line. They make everything very high quality.

I was thinking of getting these three, but I spent a whole lot money on getting a Reimu figure.

Although I own few Nendoroids, how small are the petites? I still love my Kagamiku because she's small enough to really put wherever I want her to be at, and it's very fun to change her pose from day to the other.

    • it's about half the size of a nendoroid approx. For my next figure post I'll put one next to a nendoroid so you can see for yourself Leaf xD

Good Smile is the best and most trustworthy in my opinion and they're awesome. These are good just remember not to fiddle with it too much or it will eventually become loose or break.

ohoho!!! here it is~ the infamous Figo Post..

aah, i enjoy these posts so much… :)

the spare parts are kind freaky when you just look them separately dont you think?

and dont really see the necessity to get a better camera….think this one's fine. great angles! :D

I love how they're so customizable!! Especially the beret, that is my favorite piece XD

    • With a complete figurine like the Yuri one I posted 2 weeks ago that can't be changed since it's a complete figure which also means that the quality is higher thus the price is higher while as nendoroids and figma's are more cheaper since they have removable parts or parts that can move which also lowers the quality overall. Just thought I'd share that with you Vivi ;D

  • this reminds me that I have more than 10 figures to unboxed.

  • These are awesome, you sure do love your Angel Beats XD

Btw, I'm tempted to get a nendoroid or a figma. Since you live in OZ and buy from amiami, just how much does the shipping usually cost to our part of the world?

    • AmiAmi is a store in Japan which deals with overseas orders. To look up your price (for example) go to the link for these little girls. On the side it shows the price and the countries you can covert the money to. I do believe they can deal with New Zealand but look at the FAQ's and Shop Info first before ordering online. I highly recommend the use of Paypal for online transactions Bassun! xD

The reason why I choose to link to AmiAmi only is because the other sites are either more expensive or does not have the items. Plus I've dealt with them myself so I'd rather let others buy from sites I've tried and is trustworthy ;D

      • What was the most expensive shipping cost you had?
My recent post Ano Hana 05 &amp 06

        • Since the shipping cost varies as to how big or heavy the item(s) is, my most expensive amount I had to pay was around 30 dollars AUS for shipping since I ordered quite a bit and a large wallscroll xD

Note: You're better off not buying wallscrolls overseas, the shipping eats your money away a fair bit since they would need a big RECTANGULAR box to fit it diagonally (not a thing box which would of saved money…) cheap people these days xD
My recent post Hanasaku Iroha 07 &amp 08

  • That's a lot of money for a piece of colored plastic that's smaller than my mobile phone.

Meh, don't mind me, I've just never understood the appeal of figurines or cosplaying. Now, if they were (drastically) cheaper, I would probably consider… Nah, I'd rather buy myself some good headphones.

    • Hmm… Well as for the reason behind why I collect figurines ( I don't cosplay ) is because I enjoy it as a hobby although it's quite expensive. I also only buy the ones I really like eg: Angel Beats, K-On, BRS or any awesome ones from other animes. I like to support the company and the series also AmiAmi's prices are quite cheap for it. 20 dollars for these 3 aren't considered expensive but cheap. The retail price would be around 35 to 40 dollars I'm guessing.

I'm actually saving up for a better camera and all the other stuff including some Beats Dre headphones *smirks*

  • They're adorable : D I love Yuri's little gun and hat.

I wish they made a Naoi XD

    haha……they look cute. Great find.
The plastic base seems a not be working with the figurines imo.
