Ao no Exorcist 08

So apparently my ISP hates me and as such my internet has been down since Wednesday evening, finally they got round to plugging in the right cable at the exchange or something and now I am back with this late rant/review of this week’s Ao no Exorcist.

So since this is SOOOOOOO late I’m going to skip the whole synopsis stuff and skip straight to the, FINALLY the awesomeness I had been waiting for is here bit and I am not kidding. Finally something worth watching. What isn’t there to love more than Rin having a fight whilst glowing blue and learning of the dastardly plots the summoning teacher has in store for him. I still wonder if he is out on his own or if he is league with Satan or Mephisto? or some other untold group. Only time will tell.

I am a little surprised they kept the Kamiki guilt train running straight into the next episode as the main narrative driving force and the seeing a person be a better person than you are as motivation to change is so clichéd that I didn’t really care about her parts in the episode, although it does seem their is a respectable person in there somewhere. Just that because of this childhood incident we are shown a quick glimpse of, perhaps involving her mother she instead became a right douche.

Blue Night Related??

Sugiro continues to impress me, not only is he a physical and mental contradiction in himself but his decision to be an Aria despite looking like a knight or ‘gun-slinger’ (yes I forgot what it’s called) proves highly entertaining every week. Being an Aria seems tough, like memorizing 21 chapters of the bible and that ONLY applies to Ghoul types? I think that would kill me so props to him.

So in closing I am looking forward to the next episode, more evil teachers and maybe some Mephisto mischief.

  Hm… definitely seems that Arias are going to be really important members of the order later on due to their ability to eliminate demons with spoken verse, but they're slow. At least they have partners.

  I'm curious about the teacher and why nobody noticed that he's been summoning demons thus far.

  Definitely loved the fact that this episode got back to some demon fighting and the conflict with the summoning teacher. But, I really wish they dropped Izumo in this one, or at least not have given her so much prominence. However, episode 09 looks really promising.
