Ao no Exorcist 10

So here we go again, its that time of the week (2 days before the next episode) when I actually have time to scribble some thoughts down onto this here screen so lets get to it. This week we are introduced to that cat that can be spotted stalking Rin in the opening sequence so unfortunately no surprises in the end result of the episode, but it definitely was a touching episode as well as informative and here I was thinking the ranking went: Esquire, Exorcist, Teacher, then something like Paladin but oh hoe more complicated it is and this is where I make my obligatory beg that the show doesn’t do a Naruto i.e. too long for it’s own good (that’s anime specific btw since we all hate fillers)

I have to admit it didn’t strike me as too much of a surprise that this episode would somehow tie into Shirou and give him some more development, on the other hand I would never have suspected such a goof-ball of a priest to be the Paladin yet he did hold off Satan with his will power alone. This episode did do a good job in continuing to tell us that Rin in just better than Yukio. Rin could only hear Cat Sith because he was a demon, and therefore was the only one that could communicate with it and with the revealing of Shirou being more than just a “shitty old geezer” Rin is quite definitely foreshadowed to be a total badass.

The cat sith’s crying scene was really well done the focus on his shimmering eye as it teared up was beautifully animated. Other than that, not much to say about it. More hints are dropped about Mephisto wanting to see Rin’s true power, but his brother is more interested in touring Japan, an image that I just can’t get out of my head, so I don’t think we’ll be seeing much major development anytime soon.
