Ao no Exorcist 11 & 12

Hey guys, I’m sorry about the lack of last weeks update, was busy sorting out my final year modules and just never got round to posting, however now is the time to post and hopefully fix my trend of posting a week late…

So Episode 11 – The seaside based filler focusing around none other than Izumo. I think at this rate I am going to hate Ao no Exorcist before it gets better, the studio should of waited longer before animating this as the non-filler episodes are pure gold and as Kiiragi kindly put into words on Random Curiosity “Pierrot’s fillers can almost unanimously be agreed to largely suck ass” and I do agree with this. Lets break down the episode, they go to the beach and low and behold the kraken just happens to be taking a trip there two, meanwhile the resident idiot gets attached to Izumo she has some more unneeded screen time and it turns out she has dog eyebrows. All in all nothing happened, I would seriously have been happier with a lesson episode something to bring the back story to life.

Quite possibly the best part of the episode was watching Blackly bound into action and even that didn’t last long…

But lets not dwell on the unfortunate-ness of this weak episode and instead move swiftly and lazily along to Episode 12, the OMG stuff is happening episode. So the premise for this episode is going to ‘Mepphy Land’ (twined with Neverland) to catch a ghost. Which is this world is defined as a demon who’s possessed the vapors of a dead person, lovely. So the crew split off into pairs, Rin and Shiemi are of course a pair and Rin, the little devil (no pun intended), can’t keep his eyes of her and her seductively short skirt and I was honestly smiling to myself when Rin asked her out on a date.

Then of course the ghost pops up to conveniently separate the duo so that ‘demon creep’ or whatever can steal Rin sword and play with it. Which led to the most awesome fight sequence to date. I thought it was really cool how they have made the Demon Kings so strong and it definitely illustrates that Rin can’t just win by unsheathing his sword and instead is going to learn either to fight before he uses his powers or learn to control his powers better, or of course both and then he can become the Ichigo of this series.

I was convinced for this entire episode that someone, mainly Shiemi, was going to find out he was the son of Satan and to be honest I am surprised he hasn’t dropped the ball yet but instead he his saved by a mysterious High Upper Class Inspector Posing as Yamada and whilst that explains why he was doing nothing is out other unnoticeable friend going to be the same or he is batting for the other time? and I bet next week we will be told that Rin can’t go on missions as he is a liability.

  I can honestly say I did not see that twist at the end coming. I knew that there was something up with Mr. Hooded Sweatshirt, but when it turned out to be Yoko under there my face was like o_____________O
  I really liked episode 12 (minus the fanservice every few minutes…), and I'm glad they've finally gotten back to the plot a bit.
  As for episode 11…. all I have to say about it is that Izumo is officially a pedophile. And utterly unlikeable.

  She wasn't posing as Yamada, she /was/ Yamada. :v

  Izumo is a stupid tsundere, but she's the only flat in the entire show so :(

  Ooooo yeaaaaaaa Yoko finally makes her appearance. The next ep should be where I dropped off the manga (barring any unnecessary fillers)

  Episode 11— Yeah it did just focus on Izumo and the random giant squid? LOL it didn't even do anything evil! Well I didn't mind seeing another side to Izumo I hope she does somewhat get along with the others more.

  Episode 12– Ohhh man Shiemi in that uniform! So niceee but that giant bow wtf killing me…I died laughing when that guy was opening and closing the sword over and over LOL waiting to see the Gif files for that. Yeah Shiemi almost saw the demon form T___T DAMN!!!

  @Bass YES!! YOKO! Ahahaha <3 <3 I saw some artwork of her and was like ohh man where is she?! Now we know :P

  Ep 11 destroyed the reputation this anime had build so far in just 24 minutes, imo. Ep 12 was decent. I just wish they would stick with the plot, in the 26 episdoes they have planned.
