Manga Review: Doubt
I feel a little bad posting this consider now most of the posts on the front page seem to be me advertising stuff :p so time to rectify that with something a little more on topic.
Doubt by Tonogai Toshiki is a manga I finished earlier this year and it was such a good one I was astonished to find it has a ‘sequel’ of sorts called Judge, but that’s getting away from the point since I just want to convey how awesome a story it was. However it is not for the squeamishness or faint of heart.
Genres: Drama, Horror, Psychological, Mystery
The story is about a game called Rabbit Doubt which is spreading like wildfire across Japan. The idea behind this game is that every player plays a rabbit in a colony, one player is selected at random to be a wolf who has infiltrated the group of rabbits. The wolf has to kill off a rabbit every round while the rabbits try to identify and kill off the wolf.
Sometimes the players of the game choose to meet up in real life, outside of the game. Yuu, Mitsuki, Rei, Hajime, Eiji, and Haruka (our protagonists) have all met up to hang out and get to know each other outside of the game. However one of them has decided to play the game for real and as such kidnaps the group, locks all of them in a warehouse and sets just enough doubt and suspicion that they start to consider killing each other off. Achieved by actually killing one of the characters.
And so begins the fight for suvival amoungst the six attempting to find out who is the wolf and who they can actually trust. The story is short. The manga is only 20 chapters long but it’s straight forward and to the point everything that happens doesn’t detract from the story and keeps you on the very edge of your seat and most importantly keeps you turning those ‘virtual’ pages.

I think Manga Summary would be a more appropriate title.
