Space Brothers 05
The most incoherent post, coming right up!! ARGH my brain can’t function from the cuteness… also I learned there’s going to be a short spin-off featuring Apo, how cute is that?! You thought that the moe-est anime of the season might be Kimi to Boku or perhaps Tsuritama, but it’s without a doubt Space Brothers. Don’t deny it. This Space Brothers episode has funny moments, touching moments, heart-dropping moments. It has MUTTA! I just can’t handle this…!!
Does brotherly love affect boys the same way as girls, or is it just me who’s rolling around on the floor, squealing like a dumbass? If Sekijitsu had a game and there was a boss battle with each of the writers my weakness would be brotherly love, so yes, I very much enjoyed this episode. Very much. The “B” in my kind of “BL” is brotherly~ it’s so refreshing to have them in the same vicinity, competing against and motivating each other, recalling cute anecdotes together!
Although their differences were apparent from the beginning, it’s interesting to see just how different they are even in regards to behavior. When it comes to details, it’s the complete opposite. Mutta went all BBC Sherlock in Hibito’s house! He has a great attention to detail, as well as deduction skills. I don’t recall if Hibito had or noticed the “loose screw test,” but his lack of attention to detail and what some may interpret to laziness (he doesn’t bother fixing these mistakes) seems like something that would really screw up a space mission and make the rocket explode or something. Astronauts need to be tedious and meticulous, or at least that’s what I understood from watching Lost in Space and Sunshine. While Mu-chan and his clumsiness is a liability, I could also imagine Hibito causing a grave error… ”Oh no I forgot a zero in the calculations, we don’t have enough air to make it back home–!”
So, it makes sense considering what Mutta says about Hibito having a loose screw. Hibito’s a weird guy, talking about his brother so much (even though it’s sooooo cute, onii-chan complex ♥♥♥) to everyone he knows, including the old people in the neighborhood. Mr. & Mrs. Smith’s speech reminds me of Tekkon Kinkreet (the part where Shiro said he had Kuro’s missing), it was just so cute and touching! Hibito’s alone, always missing his onii-chan 。ﾟ(ﾟﾉД｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ Mutta, you have Hibito’s loose screw! you complete each otherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
But wow, the part at the end was so sudden, it immediately killed the light, happy feeling in my heart! Just when Mutta started feeling motivated, too! Does this one particular oyaji have the ultimate say, or is it a group consensus? Because it looks like the only person on Mutta’s side is the “loose screw” test guy. To us, he seems like a reliable character, but we don’t know how much power or persuasion he has among the whole deliberation group (and it doesn’t look like much). Lord knows what Hibito would do if Mutta doesn’t pass, but he doesn’t seem like the guy to accept reality that easily. Let’s hope Hibito’s faith in Mutta isn’t for nothing!
