Kore wa Zombie desu ka – Of the Dead 08
Kyoko is such a tease, I swear. She’s so two-faced in episode 8; making you think she’s either friend or foe, though if you believe I didn’t like her appearance (and exit) in episode 8, you’re deeply mistaken. I loved episode 8, I enjoyed it heaps as well! Kyoko’s insanity is fricken hilarious! Swinging on the swings while laughing like a crazy maniac!? As if that didn’t get you cracking up laughing! Though before I go out of control, I want to state that Kore wa Zombie is doing a much better job in their story delivery than season 1. Even though they’ve reused Kyoko, I cannot ignore how well they used her for story progression and comedic value.
I applaud Shitaya Noriko for doing a great job in portraying the multiple persona’s Kyoko has – whether that be the insane side, the cute and innocent side or the romantic side as we saw in the end of episode 8. You can really feel the emotions coming out of the screen, which gave the sudden change of atmosphere (when Kyoko confessed her love to Aikawa) a beautiful transition that didn’t feel completely abrupt. Actually, Kore wa Zombie does a great job in abruptly changing the atmosphere while still making it an enjoyable watch.
Rating: I’ve decided to give it 8 out of 10. I’ve always looked forward to the story and wondered whenever it’d begin to unfold. Once it did, I never imagined it to be this enjoyable mainly because of my low expectations. Of course, that’s a great thing for me personally though I can’t speak for everyone on this matter. Even so, I’d like to say that I’m glad to have walked into watching season 2 with low expectations as it has allowed me to enjoy it while being overly satisfied more and more. The only thing I’m worried about is Zombie’s length being 10 episodes (according to MAL) so how will it end? I’m definitely not expecting a big finale though I do hope it wouldn’t be a disappointing finale too. Anyone got guesses?
