An Introduction – My Technique Is Strong

Why exactly would anyone in their right mind do something as stupid as blog anime? Why would I in my arguably right mind ever make the conscious choice to do something as stupid as blog anime? Very few people ever manage to get some real name recognition out of it. Even less get any money out of it. And appreciation from the creators who we idolize so much? I don’t think they even are aware of the existence of us bloggers.

So why would I make a devotion of my precious time to a place like Sekijitsu determined to bring you, the fan(girl)boy the latest reviews and analysis of the latest of those silly cartoons that the Japanese make? Maybe it’s because I like people listening to me talk about anime. I like people listening to me rant about this or that in general. God knows I fill my friend’s ears with my latest anime fueled spiel on a basis that the majority of them would vote as unacceptable. And I can’t help but admit that an audience is nice.

But, I’d have to say the real reason is this. I love anime. I think this medium can do brilliant things in the right hands and in the right minds. It can inspire people to do better, and it can convince people to do the right thing when it matters. By watching these moving lines of computer generated or hand drawn color, we invigorate our minds and our immortal souls. And I want to clime to the highest mountain top and sing about it.

I love anime. I love talking about anime. I want you all to love anime in the same glorious way that I do. Why do I blog? Because I’m not in my right mind. That is still in America with the rest of my body. My wrong mind is too busy having a blast in Japan. And I bet that more then one of you have a mind that is there with me.
