Accel World 20-21
Nomi’s trick revealed
I feel so stupid! I should’ve known already that it was similar to Taku’s trick and how he was able hide his avatar from the matching list through the use of a back door on Chiyu’s linker! Not only that, they reconfirmed this from Kuroyukihime’s little side arc with Sulfur Pot using a remodeled, illegal linker that functions without being worn. I wonder how I didn’t notice that till now… hmm. Well whatever, although you guys have already figured this out and I’ve only recently figured this out, why hasn’t Haru or especially Taku figured this out!?
They’re going on and on about how Nomi can’t be seen and blah blah blah but Taku has done the same thing. Have they not reached this conclusion or have they just dismissed this possibility for some strange reason I don’t know? Even so, I do like how they’ve given us a teaser with Taku’s case as a way to lead up into Nomi’s arc. But the problem boils down to whether or not Haru and the gang can intercept these illegal neuro linkers.
Niko is back!?!?
Yes, yes, YES! Finally! Niko has appeared in the new arc! Not only that, Celty- *ahem* I mean, Blood Leopard has also been properly introduced into the cast – so far – with the purpose to help Haru resolve this new threat to Burst Linkers all across Japan. Of course, I’m talking about discovering the trick behind concealing ones identity from the matching list. But it saddens me that Niko (like Sky Raker) will not be too involved in this arc and will take her leave after Taku learns how to use the Incarnate System. Boo~ I want to see more of her crazy dual avatar and her two sided nature. Tch.
My Accel World can’t possibly incorporate good comedy!
I’m not even sure if – at times – I was supposed to laugh during certain scenes. First of all, the big major plot hole has not been addressed in terms of Haru’s ‘Shower incident’. I find myself laughing at the stupidity that Kawahara Reki got away with. If Haru really was the person that placed the camera up there, it wouldn’t make sense why he would be CAUGHT on camera, thus Chiyu could still use her fake excuse to save Haru from the misunderstanding. Also, you could easily check the time on the camera, noticing that it couldn’t be Haru since the time of the girls being caught on camera and Haru’s entrance won’t match. But this was already debated about so I’m not going to continue that rant.
On the other hand, remember how Haru went berserk in episode 20? How fricken funny was his OVERSIZED PIGGY AVATAR?!?!?! WHAT THE- I DON’T EVEN- It was horrible! Was it supposed to be funny? The mood was quite serious and then they spring out an ugly, overgrown porky at us. It was too much to handle for my sides… oh gosh, that was dumb. Well at least for Haru and Taku’s yaoi moment on the bus, was MEANT to be funny (and it was… though not as funny as Berserk Piggy).
Rating: I’ve decided to rate both these episodes an overall 7 out of 10. Like I’ve pointed out, we already know how Nomi, Sulfur Pot and the rest operate yet the gang still has no clue (besides Kuroyukihime). What’s more is that they continue to put aside a simple resolve towards banishing any misunderstanding of Haru being guilty for the shower incident. I find this really dumb that Kawahara Reki hasn’t grasped logic enough to make these characters feel less dumb. I have to admit that the result of a 7 out of 10 than a 5 or 6 was mainly due to the overgrown piglet and Niko’s return to the screen. As you all know, I love Niko a lot for her personality and avatar strength. It’s crazy and chaotic just like her! *sigh* I really just want to get this arc over and done with but as for what I know so far, there hasn’t been an announcement of a second season for Accel World. Is this really it?
