It’s as adorable as I had hoped! Everything about it is adorable. The colours are vibrant and the jokes are hilarious! Especially if you’ve got a talking bird who struts like he’s top-shit. But even so, if there wasn’t a talking bird that delivered 90% of the comedy, I would still watch and enjoy this show a lot. Why? Because it’s an original work made by the veteran K-On staff! Even Hikasa Yoko will be voicing one of the supporting characters in Tamako Market! It’s beautiful! It’s like a K-On spin-off where Mio and the gang is thrown into an alternative dimension; living a completely different life!
You’ve got our protagonist Tamako who’s well known in town and works in her family’s mocchi shop. Her personality is really refreshing alongside the whole cast. Refreshing as most of these seiyuu’s are unknown (Suzaki Aya’s the voice of Tamako and she’s only got 2 roles in her career) but also how K-On never had any male characters and Tamako does. Including who I believe to be a trap, voiced by Ono Daisuke, the flower shop… girl? guy? Well it doesn’t matter. Like K-On, Tamako embraces its characters and knows how to make an ordinary day of life look like a spectacular experience we all wish to be apart of. Oh how I missed you Yamada Naoko… if only you were offered to direct more shows.
So all in all, Tamako Market is a fun and vibrant series you’d relax with. Nothing serious but hey, the atmosphere is so bright and fluffy, it’ll put a smile on your face just like how it does for me! Well… okay maybe not since I’m a die hard fan of K-On. But still! Don’t pass this up guys! It’s an adorable series through and through and I’ll most likely be blogging this.
