Saber has always been my most favourite character in the Fate series mainly because of her stunningly elegant yet bewildering character design. She’s as strong …
Woo! Yeah! Alright! Way to go~! *ahem* I’m sorry, the reality of actually owning this particular Mio Akiyama figurine which is one of the few …
Hello minna-san! First of all I really need to apologize for now publishing this on time with what I said but later then never right? Well with that over let me mention that this figure is my most adored figure and also the last figure I will be showcasing from my collection due to the fact that its simplicity is stunningly beautiful and it’s also one of my favourite characters: Saber from the Fate series! I present to you the summer version of Saber which is the counterpart for Rin’s summer version. The interesting thing is that Rin’s base is slightly higher than Saber’s; allowing you to slip in Sabers base inside Rin’s to make it look like they’re close together. Just that alone makes the set ‘complete’ due to its original display was for it to be put close together like that. Of course, that’s optional. As much as the legs are abnormally long it still looks great how smoothly sculptured Saber is in every angle you see her in. Considering she’s so…simple I can’t really say much about her other than what I’ve already said. Well with that, this will conclude Tofu’s personal figurine collection but fear not Figure Spotlight lovers, if there ever comes a time we at Sekijitsu purchase figurines in the future, we will make sure it gets the spotlight it deserves. Other than that…EX…CALIBUR!
Hello minna-san! It’s finally time for me to pull out the big guns because I always save the best till last. A while back, I stumbled across this beautiful yet elegant summer version of Rin Tohsaka over at AmiAmi (but they’re sold out now) and I couldn’t not pass her off as some other figurine. No! Indulged at my own will, I’ve begun to love the Type Moon franchise and especially a fan of the Fate series. Of course, you can’t get one without the other which is why I also bought the Saber summer version to complete the duo set (note that they are sold separately) who will be displayed next week so keep a look out folks! As for Rin, the people at Alter really know how to show off her elegant legs and the detail they’ve put into her ribbons and especially her hair is amazing. Rin is definitely sturdy but can sometimes topple over if you apply any unreasonable force to her or the stand she’s on. Even so she won’t break unless you intend to break it (of course) and considering she’s in a sitting position will guarantee her longevity from warping in the future. Though what surprised me was – actually something quite minor – a special postcard of both Rin and Saber in their summer versions in each figures box and let me tell you it’s a beautiful postcard indeed. If you wish to view it, scroll down and open up the spoiler tag folks.
Hello minna-san! Here is the last member of the HTT band yet to be showcased and that is the energetic and cool Ritsu Tainaka from the anime K-On!. Ritsu was actually also the last nendoroid I got to complete the HTT set and boy did I wait long for it to restock. Though a funny thing is when I found out it was been restocked after 4 or 5 months of waiting I realized I might not be able to get it in time and what do you know… it was sold out in 3 days. Yet for some strange reason it was back in stock 2 days later so I ordered one ASAP and now she sits with the rest of the K-On band members on my shelf of figurines. Other than that, the nendoroid self of Ritsu comes with a special magnetic head lump and if you wish to see her without her headband you can! Ritsu also comes with two different hair styles: with and without headband and might I just say that I totally think Ritsu looks better without her headband but that’s just my personal opinion. As for the stand, you can choose to use it or use her drum chair which also offers the capability of a stand but not as stable so it makes Ritsu easy to fall over if you ever accidentally move whatever it’s on. Besides that I actually had a lot of fun taking pictures of Ritsu in different ways possible (something I haven’t done for the rest actually… should though). Hope you enjoy!
Hello minna-san! For this figure spotlight I will be showcasing both the beloved and beautiful Mio Akiyama and the elegant Mugi Kotobuki from the all-so-famous anime K-On! which has recently released its own movie in Japan. Starting off with Mio, I will once again announce that Mio is by far my favourite character of all time along with her voice actor Hikasa Yoko and the anime itself. Her nendoroid self was the first nendoroid and figure I got along with Azusa Nakano and never once have I had any problems with her. Unlike my Yui nendoroid with a loose stand, Mio’s stand is stern and fits in place perfectly, offering very stable poses as you like them to be. Mugi’s nendoroid self also doesn’t have any problems but I have found out first hand that her keyboard stand is quite fragile as mine is broken in the cross-section (which is the part that provides weight support). Though it is still able to stand on its own, it’s not much of a big deal. Her contents also contain a tea set which you can make her hold when positioned properly. I hope you enjoy the colleciton of pictures I’ve taken of the girls folks!
